About Boukje

Boukje started singing as soon as she could speak. At first it was just with her mother behind the piano, but from her sixteenth on she took vocal lessons. After her Bachelor’s in History at the Utrecht University she decided that she wanted to explore as much as possible about singing and music. In 2017 she graduated as a mezzosoprano from the Fontys High School of the Arts. In 2019 she got her Master’s degree from the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag. Currently she studies with Maurits Draijer.

In the past Boukje performed as soloist in different concerts. She sang for example the alto solos in Bach’s St Matthew Passion, in Haydn’s Stabat Mater and the Christmas Oratorio of Saint-Saens. She also sang the role of Hänsel in the staged opera of Hänsel und Gretel from Humperdinck.

Why I Teach

To make music with your voice is something beautiful and also personal. Every voice has it’s own sound and color. With all my vocal teachers I learned different ways to find my own sound in a way that feels free. Now I like to help other people with finding their own sound.

Individual lessons

In the individual lessons we will of course work on vocal technique, but singing is more than technique and that’s why I also like to work on how to interpret the music and the text. I teach:

  • basic technique all musical genres
  • advanced technique classical singing
  • preparation for auditions

minimum time: 45 min.

Group Lessons

What is nicer than making music together? If you really like singing in a little group or if you don’t feel comfortable singing on your own, you can also come to me in a small group. The group lessons are available from 2 to 6 people.

Minimum time: 1 hour.

Coaching Choir

You can also call me to give vocal coaching to your choir.

Per hour until 21 years old: €47,50,-
Per hour from 21 years old: €57,50 (incl. 21% btw)
